The benefits of living with house plants...

Green thumbs run in my family. Growing up my Grandmother's back yard was a vibrant eden full of all kinds of plants many well over 6 feet tall. I would spend hours weaving in and out playing with the magical creatures that lived there. When I moved to Boston for the birth of my daughter I was desperate to be connected to my green wilderness roots so I made a small indoor jungle. It started off with just a few plants that came from my daughter's school and some plants I bought from Russell's Garden Center - now 3 years later a few has turned into 73 house plants spread across our 4000sq foot house.

With so many trees being cut down and so much pollution in the atmosphere it is now becoming more of prevalent health benefit to live with house plants than it is to have them just for interior esthetics - plus most house plants are very easy to take care of - many even prefer minimal care except to be talked to.

Studies have shown that living with house plants:

 reduces stress

 increases oxygen

 cleans the air

puts moisture back into the air

produce a natural environment

caring for plants creates connection

One of the goals Woven Womyn has is to educate and encourage people to live with house plants for the sake of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental benefits. Being more connected to the natural world encourages people to take care of this planet we call home. At Woven Womyn we work to create beautiful, practical and organic products to encourage a relationship to plants.
